K-Blue Racing Team

Scott Thomas - Mesa, AZ
Age:  37
Bio:  Born in Kansas and spent most of my younger life between Kentucky & Virginia.  Going to college in Kentucky and then moving to Arizona in 98'.  In 2007 I got into adventure racing and played with that for a few years with a team called Madness Adventure Racing.  Mid 2011 I started K-Blue Racing as the only member and racer of the team.  This team was for me as a solo racer and I was only planning on doing a handful of races a year.  I only bike race these days weather it's mountain or road and my road race list is very short.
Race History:
2012-2014 24 Hours of Old Pueblo - Solo
2013 Whiskey Off-road - 50 Miler
2011-2012 24 Hours of Fury - 4-person Coed - 3rd(2011) 2nd (2012)
2011 Xterra Odgen - Short Course
2012-2013 - Barn Burner - 4-person Male team

Mike Bellows - Mesa, AZ
Age: Old enough to know better.
Bio: Born in Mesa Arizona, I was raised by a pack of desert rats.  Although
I have visited lots of places, I am always happy to come home to the
sunshine and blue skies  of the Valley of the Sun.  As far as I can
remember, I've always ridden bikes and it seems I've always crashed bikes
too (something about two wheels and gravity).

I tend to prefer the fat tires and twisty trails to the boring blacktop,
especially after a short lived career as a hood ornament on a 1993 Chevy
S-10.  Who has ever heard of anyone being run over by a car while on the
trail...right?

My racing career began because of my inability to say no to bad ideas.  The
conversation went like this...

Friend: Hey do you want to do a race this weekend?  It's paid for.
Me: I haven't been training.
Friend:  That's okay. Just don't stop.
Me: Okay

... and eight hours later I had survived my first adventure race. Since that
time, and fully informed,  I have participated in numerous adventure, bike
and foot races.

Race History:
2013-2014 24 Hours of Old Pueblo - 4-person Male
2013 Whiskey Off-road - 50 Miler

Sterling Margetts - Phoenix, AZ
Age: 33
Bio: Born in Utah, childhood in Colorado, and the rest in Arizona.  I attended Brigham Young University so I could go ski every week and get school credit, and then I attended Arizona State University so I did not have to drive in snow anymore.  My education is in Civil Engineering and I do commercial land development as a profession.   Growing up I had a blue huffy bmx bike that I loved to ride to my friends’ houses and the local gas station, until one day I parked it behind my parents car and it was run over, and so ended my riding.  It wasn’t until I met Scott in late 2000’s that he convinced me to buy a bike and race in this thing called an adventure race in Prescott.  From that moment on I have recaptured my passion for biking and all outdoor activities.

Race History:
2007-2011 Gilmore Adventure Race-
2008 to 2014- MS Ride 150
2013- Whiskey Off-Road 25 proof
2013 and 2014 – 24 hours of Old Pueblo – 4 person male
2011-2012 24 hours of Fury – 4 person Coed
